Icon Won't Hide in System Tray

I have a persistant icon that keeps popping up in my system tray, even
though I've asked to have it "Always Hide" in Properties.

It's the double-monitor LAN icon, and it always shows up with a red X thru
it. When I hover the mouse over it, it says "Local Area Network
Connection. A cable is unplugged".

I use dial-up, not a LAN, so I don't need this icon showing.

Again, I've already tried hiding it under Properties, but it always comes
back. :(

Any way to make this setting stick?

Open the Network Connections folder, right-click the LAN connection,
and disable it.

Thanks for that. I figured that out on my own last night too. But I really
wanted to keep the LAN connection in case I use it (it's too hard
remembering everything I disable), but I guess Windows taskbar won't
cooperate.

You're welcome. You can right-click and enable the LAN connection if
you need to use it.
