icon text background coloring

Blake

I was wondering if anyone knows how to change the
coloring behind the text on desktop icons from the given
color (mine is blue) to a clear transparent around the
icon's text.
I had this previously, but for some reason the other day
it reverted back to having a color block behind the text
reminiscent of windows 98, etc.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Blake

Hi Blake
Right click on your desktop, select arrange icons by and make sure 'lock
web items on the desktop' does not have a check next to it.
If that does not help right click on my computer and view its properties.
Select the advanced tab and the settings under performance. On the visual
effects tab scroll down the list to the bottom and be sure that 'Use drop
shadows for icon labels on the desktop' is not checked.

Hope that helps

unfortunately that didn't work in resolving the problem.
does anyone else have any ideas?

thanks,
