Icon sizes too small

How do I enlarge all of the icon sizes inclusing the
start button and task bar items - i can barely read the
words - they are so small!
 
Right click on the desktop.. go to properties.. ensure that the display
resolution is not above 1024 x 768.. click on the 'advanced' button.. now
select 'large fonts from the dropdown menu in the 'display' section.. 'ok'
your way back out..
