icon is overwritten

help please when I drag an icon out of the address bar to
the field it is overwritten with the blue E. If I say, try
to bring EBAYs icon to the field, as soon as it gets to
the field, it is overwritten by the blue E. Why? how do I
stop this? I rebooted over and over, I removed ebay all
togeather and reinstralled it reinstalled but the second I
try to creat a shortcut to the field the blue e appears
and not ebays icon why? same with google and others.

Try right clicking on the item you want to change and go to properties. Then click on change icon. You will have to know where the icon is stored on your computer, but it should work if you do.

Ive tried, i cant find the icon. Other icons do transfer
fine. Also, sometimes the blue e is in the address bar and
sometimes it is not. I try dragging when the websites
icon is there. It was working fine till..... then it
stopped also, as I said other icons transfer fine. Even
yahoos icon wont appear, yet yahoo mail does. Any ideas
