.ico file icons

I accidentally associated the file icon for .ico (icon)
files to a default icon in the shell32.dll file. By
default, .ico files will display the icon that is stored
in the file, but because I accidentally assigned an icon
to .ico files, it now only displays the icon form the
shell32.dll file.

Is there a way that I can reset this so that .ico files
will display the icon stored in the file rather than an
assigned icon?

I have already tried using Tweak UI to reset this
problem, as well as re-installing WIndows XP, but this
did not solve the problem.
