IBM Microdrive just failed

Hi All,

I have an IBM Microdrive that just failed, as far as I can tell. I only
purchased it one month ago from GoogleGear (now ZipZoomFly -
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=712501-017), and
now when I place it in the CF slot of my handheld, it clicks for a second or
two, then generates a whining sounds that goes from high to low; it sounds
like it is spinning down, but it could also be some sort of electronic
sound.

Whatever the case, I can't get any response from the drive. Has anybody
else had this experience? Is there anything I can do? I am hoping that I
will be able to get it repaired under warranty, but I am not sure, as I
bought the OEM version, and sometimes companies are pretty stiff about
honoring warranties on non-retail versions.

Return it under warranty.

That url you posted says very explicitly indeed that it has a 1 year
warranty, so if Hitachi tells you to bugger off, start shafting zipzoomfly.
