What is the life span of an OS?
3 years? 5 years?

Basic normal release schedule for MS. Vista has been out over
a year.

And a release date isn't written in stone. But 4 years between OSs
is normal.

Vista blows and they are scrambling to get a new OS out in 2 1/2
