I want Word 5.1 for Windows. I don't like 2003. Too complicated.

I want to be able to push a button and have all this junk on Word 2003 go
away. I liked Word 5.1. I want it back. I'm sick of all this garbage coming
up on my screen trying to interefere with what I am doing. It is too
complicated. I used to love Word. Now I hate Word. Using the program is like
having to fly to New York, Los Angeles and Hawaii when what I am really
trying to do is just walk across the street. I am now going to see if I can
find a new word processing program from Adobe.

This is a newsgroup for Microsoft Access, a relational database program.
You would do better to go to a Word newsgroup. They can help you learn how
to rein in Word's excesses. It tries to do too much automatically, that is
true, but you can disable a lot of that. They can explain that over there.
However, be aware that you will get little support for your suggestion that
Microsoft revert to a word processing program from 1990 or so.
By the way, Adobe does not have a word processing program, as far as I know.
