I want to develop a mind map for a powerpoint slide. Any thoughts

I use written mind maps as a tool for collating my ideas. I need to pitch a
new product idea to my team in a 10 minute slot that hooks them in and gets
the thrust of my argument across quickly and with impact. Putting across the
rationale behind my thinking would require numerous slides, will turn them
off, and leave me rushing thtought the presentation. If I could translate
the paper-based written mind map I have developed, into a slide, I think it
will have more impact.

Are there any mind map templates available, or free software downloads that
will anable me to import the output into PP that other users can recommend?

The number of slides you use can be, with proper design, indeterminable
by the audience. If your mind map consists of lines, shapes, and text
-- things you can draw on paper or in PPT -- and the key to
understanding it is in the sequence of how it comes to be, you could
simply click to build each element or group of elements such that it
supports your verbal presentation and thus your logic.

I've seen presentations where the presenter asks offhand, "So how many
slides do you think I used?" Guesses come back: "40?" "60?" Reply:
"Nope. I used 137." Because repeated items stayed on the slides in the
same place, and no transitions were used, slides changes looked like
simple builds with appearance or disappearance. Clever stuff.

I imagine that you might be able to use just one slide, and lots of
builds. And carefully timed clicks.

Not the answer you were looking for, but hope this helps.
