I Viewed My Unlinked Files consisting of jpg, htm, gif, ini images what does unlinked mean

Would like to make sure that my web site has no broken links. So that search
engines do not have problems with this so i am starting with broken links or
unlinked files and alt tags for pictures and images

Unlinked files what does it mean, that they are broken links and i must have
to assign links to these image files or else the search engines will have
problems when they are viewed as unlinked files or does it not matter to
search engines. If it does not to search engines then why it is telling me
that there is a problem with unlinked files.

Does it mean that each image must have an ALT Tag assigned to it, that is
why it is listed as unlinked files. Does this not having alt tag affect
search engines when they send their spider crawling through my web site.

thanks everyone ........:>)

Unlinked files are simply files that are not being used on your
website. There would be no page with a link to those files, so no one
will see them.

Search engines wont care.

It has nothing to do with the alt tags -- those are simply text
representations of the image that load before the images do, making
your pages load faster (without having to wait for the complete images
to load)

Unlinked files are those that cannot be browsed to directly from the Home
page. Unlinked files include those files that are linked to by scripting -
so they may be accessible from the Home page, though not directly linked.
Rollover images are examples of "unlinked" files - they are linked by
scripts.
