I think Windows is blocking me from logging into some sites

About 36 hours ago, I was getting caught up on my latest submissions list at
furaffinity.net as usual by middle clicking the thumbnails I thought I might
like. When I went to favorite one adult pic, I got a message saying that I
was either not logged in or didn't have my age set.

The problem is that when I do try to log in, I keep getting referred to the
FA front page where I still see "Welcome ~Guest Register | Log in" in both
Opera 9.24 and Internet Explorer 7. This continued to happen even after I
cleared my cookies & cache in both browsers and restarted my whole system. I
tried the reset password thing and it seemed go well, but when I went to log
in I *still* got the same result as before! What's wrong?

This is happening in both MSIE7 and Opera and just a few hours ago, started
happening with deviantart.com causing me to begin to suspect it's a problem
with Windows XP and not just a browser issue. Anyone have any idea of what
might be wrong? Windows firewall is disabled and disabling Avast Antivirus
and AdAware before trying to log in had no results.

I need to get this fixed before it starts to spead to preventing me from
logging into other sites

My mistake, I's been enabled, I just forgot that I enabled it after sorting
out a problem with another program (duplicate image detector) that the maker
of which suspected that the firewall may have been affecting. I momentarily
tried disabling it as well just before making this post and that had no
effect. Also, see my reply to my own post, forgot a detail

Forgot to mention that one admin on Furaffinity thinks that cookies are
expiring prematurely despite my system's date and time being correct, his
exact words being "Something has to be causing the cookie to expire
prematurely somehow"

One other suggested the possibility of "a wierd trojan or virus" If the
problem does keep spreading, at least I know a good comp shop that doesn't
charge body parts
