I think my burner got installed wrong or something..HELP

I have Nero express for my software...and I dont think thats the problem.
But when I burn a CD it burns successfully but only the first 2 or 3 songs
play and the rest is static! I.ve went through probably 50 CD's already and
had my burner for like 2 years and i havent had one work right yet! im
getting VERY frustrated....Help please!

Assuming you have XP and that you've installed SP2, you need the updates
for SP2 from Nero.

Try a lower writing speed (eg 8x if the cd says 10x etc)

You can also download these two burner softwares that are free, do a search:
"CD Burner XP Pro 3" and "Deep Burner" ... not bad for that good ol' non-
price, and both are quite sofisticated.

There are also a slew of drive testing apps that are free, too. DAGS!

There is a patch here than might help

Make certain you are running the latest updates for your version of Nero. If
you are burning .mp3 or .wma files and creating audio CDs then you should
burn at the slowest possible speed. Also do not multi task when burning
discs. Sometimes very poor CD media can be the cause of a ton of grief. Try
switching brands.

Another issue could be a faulty CD writer however a faulty writer will
typically fail during all writing tasks. Does the problem extend itself to
data files or only when burning music?

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! downloading a new software worked. I didnt think it was
my software because it burned the first 3 songs and i tried updating my

Must be just part of the Windoze eXPerience. Using Linux I have no problems
burning at 50x's plus and multitasking hundreds of other processes at the
same time.
