I/O Error 123,

I have just installed windows xp pro,office xp
pro,symantec system works.after i have installed style xp
i started to receive an error message:"I/O error
123".since then i wasn't able downloading and open files
from the internet.
the other thing:"could not initialize
installation.C:\Documents and Settings\????? ?????
\Desktop\dap53.exe The filename,directory name or volume
labelsyntax is incorrect
What is the reason and how can I fix it?
