I not going to play any games until Nvidia has SLI drivers.........

I have two BFG GeForce 7600 GT video cards linked together and because
Nvidia doesn't have the proper Windows Vista 32-bit/64-bit drivers available
for SLI then I am not going to play any games until there are.
I really think that Nvidia and many other companies out there need to get
off the butts and get these proper Windows Vista 32-bit/64-bit drivers
available, because this sucks that I can't play games the way that I want
too.
I for one do not blame Microsoft for any of the problems that I have, and
that is because all of the problems that I have are all driver-related
issues. As I think that Windows Vista Home Premium is a great operating
system and has alot of potential once there are all of the proper Windows
Vista 32-bit/64-bit drivers available.

Not to make light of your situation, as I can only imagine how frustrating
it is to have invested fat dollars in a SLI config only to not be able to
use it.

BUT......How are you punishing nVidia by not playing any games until they
make drivers that work ? My other thought is that, if the drivers don't
work, then you're right..you won't be playing any games.

Anyways, I'm a little surprised nVidia is behind ATI in releasing solid
working drivers for vista. They have the hot hand at the moment with the
8800 series and now with Vista they are looking kinda silly.

Though I normally buy whichever card is the fastest at the time I'm
buying,( I currently have an ATI1900XTX and was looking to jump over to the
8800GTX once Crysis was released) but now I'm thinking I'll stick with ATI's
X2800 family, because nVidia is making me nervous these days and I really
like ATI's montly release of new drivers (even if the majority of them don't
make any noticable difference). But then again, if ATI's X2800 family
doesn't hold up to nVidia's I'll probably go with them, and just cross my
fingers

You are right. Nvidia basically shot themselves at their foot with the 8800
series. I have a 8800GTS sitting on my desk as a coaster while I had to
downgrade to 2X X1950pro (crossfire ) to run games........

We are now on the second generation Vista (32 & 64) beta drivers that
support SLi, version 100.64 downloadable directly from the nVidia web site.

Yes I've read them, and they seem to suggest that they provide SLi Support
for GeForce 6 and 7 series cards, such as your 7600GTs, the limitation is
that so far they do not support DirectX 10 for series 6 & 7 cards. Looking
elsewhere on the web these drivers appear to be successfully enabling other
people to play their games in Vista, why not give it a go!

Read this line "DirectX 9 and OpenGL NVIDIA SLI support for GeForce 6 and 7
series
GPUs will be available in a future driver".
Don't you think that I have downloaded the drivers if I have made a post
about it. The only thing that happens after I turn on SLI and restart my PC
is that SLI is turned back off again.
