I need visible pop3 and imap mailboxes at the same time.

Hello,

I have been using Thunderbird for some time because I was not able to see pop3 and imap maiboxes at the same time in Outlook ('97 and 2003) Now, I actually need to use outlook properly for multiple pop3 and IMAP email accounts.

1)Please explain why I cannot see these pop3 and imap mailboxes even though they are visible in the 'email accounts' display and I can send emails through them when I test the pop3
(IMAP emails were the first to be set up, then pop3)

2)IS IMAP outlook recommended for use by 'those in the know'?
or is POP3 the only recommendation?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I do love going through lots of menu options etc, but I would rather find the quickest option.

best regards.

1) IMAP accounts in Outlook get their own personal folder store
2) POP3 accounts use the same personal folder store

Okay, with that said and assuming that you are using Outlook 2003, display
the folder list (yellow folder icon in lower left corner of main outlook
window). At this point, you should see two or more top level folders
labeled "Personal Folders". If you right click on folder, you can select
open in New Window. Now that you have two windows open, you can display two
different things. :)

Other than that, Outlook 97 doesn't support IMAP.
