I CONVERTED A WORD DOC BY INSERTING MY OFFICE XP DISC IN. NOW MY DOC IS
GARBAGE. HOW DO I CONVERT THE DOCUMENT TO A LEGIBLE MICROSOFT WORD DOC USING
XP 2002 ON WINDOWS 2000 PROFESSSIONAL?
I WOULD EVEN LIKE TO REMOVE THE DISC CONVERSIONS FROM MY COMPUTER AND USE
JUST THE DEFAULT CONVERSIONS ON THE COMPUTER ORIGINALLY.

THANKS

No need to SHOUT. I have no idea what you mean by "converted a word doc by
inserting my Office XP disc"

You should never open a document from a removable disk. It's an almost
certain way to cause it to become corrupted. Having probably already done
that, the best that you can probably hope for now is to copy the file to the
hard disk and then in the file open dialog, from the Files of Type pulldown,
select the "Recover text from any file" option.

Have you tried converting it to txt or rtf?

Try microsoft.public.windowsxp.newusers
