I need some help please

I typed some info in a Word document. Now when I try to delete some info and
replace it.....it just draws a line through it and turns it red then shows
the new info normally. WHY, did I hit a button I shouldn't have? How do I
stop this so I can delete unneeded info? Thanks for any help you can give me.

You have turned on Track Changes. You need to turn it off and accept all the

You probably have revisions turned ON. Are you using Word 2007? That's what I have, and to turn them off, you need to click the Review tab in the Ribbon and select Track changes in the drop-down to turn them off

That's pretty hard to do accidentally. Probably it got turned on by
Ctrl-Shift-E.
