I need help

I get the follow message now that I have set up my email
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'imap.telus.net', Server:
'imap.telus.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
I don't have a clue what this means

I had difficulty determining whether your ISP uses port
110 or 143 for IMAP. Apparently their servers support both
POP and IMAP. You could try changing the port number from
110 to 143 to see if that makes any difference: Tools, Accounts,
select the account, Properties, Advanced.

If you wanted POP3 rather than IMAP, you would have to delete
that account and then recreate it with the default POP3 selection.
