I NEED HELP WITH MY MAC PLEASE!!!!!!!

I'm quite new with the Mac, so have mercy. I just typed two evenings' worth
of email addresses of potential clients with the intent of doing a mass
email for recruiting purposes. I "sent" the message and it came back
"error. Check your SMTP server"?????? Due to too many addresses at one
time or??? Please tell me that I can retrieve all of those addresses and
that they weren't permanently lost!
