Hello

Is there step by step instructions to adding a discusion & guestbooks?? I can't figure out how to get them working. Does it have to be published to work??? What order do I put the pre-set disscussion pages so they work when a person enters,... Guestbook... how do I get it to view on screen when the submit button is pushed?... or does this also have to be on-line to work??? Please go to my web www.devilscandy.com I want to put it in the communications page.I could use some help... PLEASE.. My problem is the terms... I can firgure it our if someone says click here or there but... technical words... I have no clue.. Maybe someone would be sooo kind and call me to work through outting the discussion and the guestbook on our site.. we want our own so no pop ups... so sick of them :).

You have publish both to a server that has the FP extensions via FP's http
mode (http://www.yourdomainname.com)

You can not test them locally using a disk-based web.

Set it up locally...publish it to the server and you will see how it works then.

It is all automatic, you don't have to set anything up.

For the guestbook, you link to guestbook.htm
For the discussion web, you link to the folder, is you created it as a
subweb, which you should or you link to whatever.htm.

Sorry, you should have 2 pages for the guestbook, the guestlog.htm and
another file, which can have any name that you have given it. I my test web,
it is called we.htm

You should link to guestbook.htm, the guestlog.htm.

On the discussion web, I think it would be the frameset discussion page.

Everything should already be setup by FP when each of these component were
created.

Note: If your host support subwebs, then both of these should be created in
their own subwebs, so that when you do normal site updates, that you don't
overwrite user posting with your local versions.

OK I see guestbook.htm tooo so which one do I link to record the data so people can see it?

The Discussion stuff... the order that the folders are listed are as followed

disc1... discussion confirmation
disc1...frame set discussion
disc1...navigation ledge frame for discussion
disc1...descussion search form
disc1...descussion TOC frame
disc1...discussion welcome

My question is in what order do I put it so it works... should the first
page the one people click to discuss an issue be welcome? then... How does
another person reply to the discussion displayed? or is that not an option..
or did I miss something???
