Hi All,

A week ago my system rebooted while i was online and it gave me "your
system has recovered from a serious error".When i checked in Event Viewer i
found an error under system.

Date:9/27/2006 Source:System Error
Category:102 Type: Error
Event ID:1003
Description: Error code 000000c2, parameter1 00000007, parameter2 00000cd4,
parameter3 00000000, parameter4 81911d00.

I checked my system to see if i had any IRQ conflicts and i found that my
ATI Radeon VE DDR 64 mb share the same IRQ with both Intel(R) 82801EB
Universal Host Controller 24D2 and 24DE they all share IRQ 16.

My question is could that error i had is related to having this IRQ sharing
between my video card and the universal host controller. If so how can i
change it so my video card would have a seperate IRQ of it's own.The mother
board i use is gigabyte GA-8IPE1000-L and i use windows xp.Thank you in
advance.

Is this the ONLY time this has happened?

If so, ignore it and move on.

Computers/OS's are NOT perfect, the simple truth
is that this kind of stuff is going to happen, and you
may well spend many fruitless hours trying to fix it.

If this is a RECURRING problem, that's a different story...

(BTW: IRQ sharing is normal and has been standard practice
for some years now...)

Hi Green

Thank you for replying. This isn't the first it has happened to me.It
happened like three times before but with different error codes like 000000d1
and 1000007e.I searched in google i couldn't find anything related to my
problem. So i don't know if this might be related to IRQ sharing i mentioned
above or it could be a driver problem.I hope you can help me solve this
problem or give me some tips i could try. Thanks again.

Usually this stuff is a hardware issue:

undersized/out of tolerance power supply
one or more cooling fans either seized or running slowly

What else do you see in Event Viewer?

What EXACTLY were you doing when the reoobt occurred?

Hi Green

It always happen right after i lose my internet connection.I use a dial up
connection.

In Event Viewer i have a system error which i mentioned above. That's the
only error i have in event viewer.Could it be sth related to my dial up
modem.Thanks again for your help.

Lose as in...???

Do you initiate the disconnect or does your ISP drop you?

I would look for updated drivers for your modem in this case.

Hi Green

Sorry for not replying back soon i got busy the past 2 days.Usually i get
disconnected when my ISP drop me and when that happens the computer locks up
and i have to reboot it.Sometimes after i reboot i don't get any error
messages. So i really don't know what to do or if this is related to modem or
due to the irq sharing i mentioned above. Thanks alot for your help.

OK, then.

I would definitely investigate the modem drivers,
as this should not be happening. Is the computer
totally locked up, or can you still move the mouse
pointer around?

Also carefully go through the Dial Up Networking
entry for your ISP. Check your ISP's web site for
any specific settings they want you to have there.

You might want to try uninstalling the modem, moving
it to a different PCI slot, and then reinstalling.

Hi Green

When that happens the computer is totally locked up.I cannot move the mouse
or do anything. So i just press the reset button to reboot.I use a Netodragon
56k PCI voice modem.
