I need help setting up partitions

Hello everyone, this is my first post, so bare with me
here.

I upgraded my computer from Windows 98SE to Windows XP
Pro. I have a 120 gig hard drive however, currently it is
just set up as 1 drive (C:). My question is, how can i
partition the additional free space that i have left on
my computer? I have about 70-80 free gigs, and i would
like to split that into two partitions.

Do i need a third party software to do this or can it be
done through Windows XP?

Thanks.

If you want to keep the data currently on your hard drive intact, you
will need third-party software. I like and use Partition Magic. Other
posters here have recommended BootItNG.

You can change the partition structure of the drive with Windows
only if you are willing to start from scratch and lose everything
on the drive.

Otherwise, to do it non-destructively, you need third-party
software such as Partition Magic or Bootit Next Generation) and
even with those, you should make sure you have a good backup
first, just in case something goes wrong).

Control Panel - Admin Tools - Computer Management, select Disk
Management and look lower right for the graphic of the drive.

There you can right click in the 'unallocated space' and 'Create
Partition'. Think out the sizes you want carefully in advance - it is
much less easy to change non-destructively once you have created them
and splitting the space equally is probably not the best idea
