I need help please

I have a virus ! and need to reinstall XP, I have the disk, which was
supplied with my machine Dec 2005. How do I reinstall, and also clear my
hard-drive. I don't need to save anything, as I can start afresh! (Mature
Female indeed)..

Just put the CD in the drive, and boot to it - you may see a message on the
screen saying 'press any key to boot from CD...', so do it. You can then do a
complete reinstall. You'll have to reinstall all applications, Windows
updates and service packs, antivirus and spyware apps and updates, etc., as
well as losing ALL data files such as Word documents, Excel spreadsheets,
etc.

If it doesn't boot to the CD, then you may need to go into the BIOS setup to
tell it to boot from the CD before trying to boot from the floppy or hard
drive. The method for getting into setup varies depending on the PC
manufacturer.
