The only place that command appears by default is on the toolbar of the
Print Preview. You don't have to select any text to use it, because it
automatically applies to the entire document.
You can add the command to any other toolbar or menu where you'd like to see
it (for instructions, see http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/AsgnCmdOrMacroToToolbar.htm). In
the Customize dialog, you'll find it in the Tools category as "Shrink One
Page", or in the All Commands category as "ToolsShrinkToFit".

yes, got it, live and learn, but I wonder,
in the object browser "shrinktofit" applies to Excel only,
whereas the macro recorder in Word records .FitToPages.
