It would depend partly on your camera, and you may be able to download the
software from the camera manufacturer's website.

First, you need to connect it to the PC. Sometimes, Windows will
recognise the camera's memory as a drive and you can simply use Explorer to
copy the files. Otherwise, if you've used the camera software before, it
should launch when you connect the camera. But if you hadn't used it
before and if the camera needs the software, you'll have to get it from the
manufacturer's site.

Hi,

Does you camera have a memory card which you can remove?

If so you can buy 'card readers' to stick in your usb connections, plug the
memory card into the card reader and download without using the camera's
software.

I do it this way as my camera's software is poor.

Often, this is a much faster way of transferring the photos, and is much
easier on the camera's batteries.
