Hibernation is like shutdown, but all of RAM is copied to the hard drive,
and this file is loaded back into RAM when the machine is restarted. That
way, the machine is exactly the way it was before you shut it down.
PS: If you really need to shut down all the way, then hibernation is not the
same, and you need to fully shut down.)
