I need a recommendation for user/password manager on UNIX.

I have a customer that bought a web site template for Frontpage and now he
is wanting to expand on it and needs a user login management system.

The problem is that his web site is on a UNIX box and changing it is not
really an option.

I'm looking for a really simple solution and for a full blown all the bells
and whistles solution but of course price is a concern.

I would really like to get as many options as possible for comparison
purposes so please post anything you might have.

How about free? Use .htaccess files.

See if the host has any back-end tools (such as cPanel) to make
administering .htaccess files easier/more intuitive.
