I have 2 2003 DC's and 5 2000 DC's. According to Replmon, everybody
replicating and everybody happy. To check this I placed a dcname.txt file in
the sysvol of each DC. Hopefully to see all dc names on each dc. Well after
letting it go over night I still only see the one file on each DC. What does
this mean? is replication not taking place even though replmon says it is.
Forcing a rep doesn't give me any indication of anything wrong either. What
would the reasons be as to why this file isn't replicating.

Thx in advance to all responses.
Mark.

Mark,

That, as you probably already know, would be an NTFRS problem ( if there is
a problem....I am not really all that familiar with WIN2003 but I would
*suspect* that things - in this instance - would be very similar to
WIN2000 ).

Have you used any of the troubleshooting utilities ( like FRSDiag or Sonar
or UltraSound )? Here is a link to the WIN2003 FRS Tools from the microsoft
web site....

I might also post this in the windows.server.active_directory newsgroup or
in the windows.server.dfs_rfs newsgroup.......
