Does anyone know if I can programme a quick key to put the squiggle (looks
like: ~)on top of the letter "n" as they do in Spain or Espana?

Anytime you need use of that character you might try pressing the
"Alt" key and then type 0241 on the keypad. This should insert the
letter into the text you are typing.

You might want to take a look at a little freeware background
program called AllChars. This lets me type many common special
characters (many of these are used in other languages) by
pressing the ctrl key followed by a two character mnemonic
combination.
For example, for ñ the two characters are ~ and n. For ç it's c
and , For ü it's u and "

If you just want that one it's alt 0241 on the numeric keypad. voila -
ñ.
If you are going to make a habit of it, and invoke other strange letters
too, you can put your keyboard to 'US international' and then just type
'~n' (although you'll then have to type ~~ to get a single ~). This lets
you type a whole array of interesting foreign characters, by using two
keys to get one character out.
