I was trying to open a file of a type XP didn't recognize (Point .PCF
file) and browsed to the wrong .exe file to open it. I did not uncheck
the "Always Open With This Program" box, and now I get a 'Fatal Error'
message whenever I try to open a file with this extension. How do I get
back to the browse box to try a different program to open these files?

Control Panel/Folder Options/File Types
Find .PCF and remove or change.
-max

Just right click the file and click open with.

In windows xp that is how you do it.
