It is malware. Download, install, update and run the programs below. They
are free
and very effective. Be sure to run both SpyBot and Adaware, as what one does
not detect the other may. Follow the directions carefully.

SpyBot Search & Destroy: Free

or

AdAware: Free

or

You might also install SpywareBlaster to help keep scumware off your
machine. Note: It is not an Anti-virus program.

SpywareBlaster: - Free

I had the same problem. Spyblaster took care of the
problem where the others did not.

What is the home page where you downloaded this program?

Thank you,

Thank you Herni. I do have them both and use them regularly. I was just
curious as to where BillW had downloaded his SpyBlaster program from, as it
is one that I have not heard of before. When I did a search for the
SpyBlaster, I found an array of various links that took me to a site called
Download2me, from which I found the items below. Based upon the
information, it would appear that the SpyBlaster is another name for the
SpywareBlaster program. BillW said that the SpyBlaster had taken care of
the problem where the others had not. Thus, I as curious to know where he
had downloaded his copy of the actual SpyBlaster program.

and
http://www.download2me.net/viewthread.php?tid=1285
which states:

Spyblaster - Prevent spyware from being installed on your computer for free.

SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever
being installed. SpywareBlaster blocks the installation of spyware ActiveX
controls (such as Lop.com and Xupiter) in its database, and can even prevent
them from running if they are installed. The built-in Check for Updates
feature allows quick and easy database updates (released frequently).
Information on all spyware covered in the database is also provided.
SpywareBlaster does not need to be running in the background - simple select
the items you wish to be protected against (or select all items), press the
Protect button, and protection is enabled. The newest version can also block
spyware/tracking cookies, and includes a System Snapshot feature which
allows you to take a snapshot of your computer in its clean state and later
revert many changes made by spyware and browser hijackers. The latest
version includes new tools, core improvements, and bug fixes.
