I just did something, very, very stupid. I used Partition Magic to resize
threee partitions on one of my HDDs without backing up first, and it has
died during the resizing process. (I am now on my work's laptop!) I don;t
know where to go next really, so I tried sticking the XP CD in the drive to
see if I could boot off that and repair but I gueess you can't do that. It
wants to install XP so I though I might just to that on the secomnd HDD so
that I could at least sort out the other one (which formerly held the c:
dive and windows) It seems that the only partition the XP CD wants to
install on is the the second HDD one anyway so I selected it but it keeps
cycling back to the same screen after rebooting, asking me to select a
partition again.
So, am I even going about this the right way - should I be doing something
else perhaps?
