I keep seeing the same list of Windows XP updates

I keep seeing the same list of Windows XP updates appear
even after I have downloaded and installed all of them.

I ran a Windows scan off the Windows Support site to scan
for all the critical and recommended updates. I have
downloaded and installed them and have rebooted my
machine. However, when I go back to verify that the
updates have been installed by doing another scan, all
the previously listed and installed updates keep
reappearing.

Since they keep reappearing, I am questioning whether
they were installed in the first place. Why is this
happening? Have the updates been installed? I even
tried downloading and installing each update 1 by 1 but
they still keep on showing up as needing to be
dowloaded/installed.

Any advice?
