I installed a second hard drive cant find new drive letter

I just added a second hard drive and it was done threw windows2000 and the device see but wont assign a letter?
use the trouble section on device manager it said that nothing wrong. bios also sees it too butt wont assign a letter to it?

I must be missing step some where. using the new second hard drive for downloading music and extra space for any thing?
 
Try formatting the drive with disk manager.

Press the F1 key and type in Disk Management. Select Changing disks
 
For most stuff the Help included with Windows 2000 will suffice. What
book did you use for your previous operating system? If that was
sufficient for your use then I would recommend you look at one for
Windows 2000 from the same publisher.
 
none i haven use a window books in years since window 3.1 back in the roman time of the PC
 
In the 3 years I've had to work with Win2K, I've found the answers I
needed in the Help, the MS knowledgebase/Techinfo site or a search using
www.google.com. The last one I bought was for OS/2 Warp. :-)
