Geoff

For some reason I cannot explain, my computer, running WXP, has ingested an
opening page for Internet Explorer called i-hookup.com.

This programme has also installed four folders into my Favourites memory,
all containing undesirable links. I have tried many times to eliminate both
this start up page and to delete both the favourites and the new tool bar
which has appeared. Despote using Pop-up-Cop, Norton and Zone Alarm, this
wretched nuisance also flashes advertisements on the screen and I seem
powerless to delete it.

Any help in getting rid of this monster will be gratefully received. Thank
you.

But if you've got ILookup hijackware installed, you probably have more:

These days most of us are recommending HijackThis to identify and assist in
the removal of these bad guys. **Post your files to either of the following
two forums, not here:**

http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, described in the first URL above, is
currently not available. [2 Nov-03]

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.

You were right, I should have typed i-lookup not i-hookup. Many thanks for
the advice, which I have implemented. Subsequent to my enquiry, I found
that hidden in the FAQs of i-lookup were instructions how to uninstall the
damn thing. It seems to have worked.

Again, thank you.
