I have windows ultimate....it does not "see" dvd -rw

It "sees" every other format...and my computer specs says that it will readn
and write to dvd-rw.......help

You mean Explorer does not show the device as a drive at all, or
the drive doesn't recognize a DVD when you insert it?

Does the drive appear in the Hardware Manager but not in Explorer?
