I have a powerpoint slide with a figure that has "Must have Quicktime and a
GIF decompressor to view". What is this and where do I get the necessary
files to view the image?

Hi,

Just a guess, but it's probably a link to a Quicktime movie file. You can
download and install the movie player from www.apple.com

The PPT file and the image in it were created on a Mac, which uses Quicktime
for image compression as well as other things.

The problem will also have to be fixed on the Mac. As I recall, they can
resave the image as PNG from whatever program created it originally and insert
that into PPT.

There's not much you can do about it from your end.
