i have lost ie favorites cannot get them back

somehow i have managed to do something to turn-off or hide all my favorites
.. i have gone to c:/documents & settings and my favorites are there i cannot
get windows explorer or internet explorer to identify favorites

favorites are there they just won't show in windows explorer or internet
explorer
i have my favorites i just cannot find a way to get them to reappear in
either windows or internet explorer.... the toolbar icon will not display
favorites

my favorites are there in c:/ documents & settings they are not displayed in
either windows explorer or internet explorer.....


any bright microsoft geniuses out there who can help me

How do you know they are there if you cannot see them in Windows Explorer or
Internet Explorer?

Same line 4 times !!

Where are the favorites ? They should be in C:\Documents and settings\<YOUR
ACCOUNT NAME>\Favorites

Click Start > Run > Type "%userprofile%\Favorites" (Including quotes) > Are
the favorites there ?

I found that registry has changed the default path of where favorites is
suppose to be see i downloaded this new IE7 and i moved my favorites folder
to a temp file so in the process of changing from IE6 SP1 to IE7 i wouldn't
lose my favorites now i am stuck windows won't allow me to move favorites
back to the default path
windows says it is a protected system folder and cannot be moved...
i need to get favorites out of this temp folder that is protected by windows
and moved to the default path for registry to identify that favorites is in
the correct default path...

Copy them out of the temp folder into the Favorites folder under your logon
name.

glad to see you finally got them back.
advise for next time.
use the IMPORT/EXPORT wizard in IE under FILE menu to export your Favorites to a save place, then use IMPORT to restore them afterwards.
