i have deleted vista

i have deleted vista reformated the drive it was on
how do i stop startup from trying to start vista?
it still tried to boot vista but i want it to start xp
do i have to cahnge something in win.ini or something?

Well if Xp is on your primary drive and Vista was on a secondary partition
or drive
Vista would of installed it's own bootloader and renamed boot.ini to
boot.bak I'm not sure exactly what the name is of vista's bootloader but you
will have to delete it and restore your boot.ini
I hope this at least points you in the right direction

Boot to your XP CD and go into recovery console (R) and perform fixboot and
fixmbr. You can then delete the Vista boot files from your system drive.
Optionally you can use VistaBootPro to restore the XP boot.
