This questions is only partially answered multiple times a day. Trust me,
I've read every answer. MVP's conveniently answer the "how to delete the
message" part, but never answer why the messages dont send. I've had 3
messages in my outbox for days. I don't really care about deleting them just
yet - right now I just want them to send. This happens often when I send
attachments. Delete them? Sure....after I send them!

You'll need to describe the symptoms more thoroughly, then. Any error
messages? If so, what's the exact text? Does the account "Test" button
report any failures? Have you enabled diagnostic logging to see what
happens when Outlook tries to send? Have you uninstalled your antivirus
program and reinstalled it without the mail scanning feature? The AV
program is the single most frequent cause of the problem you describe.

I believe I've finally fixed the problems I was having. I deleted about
61,000 messages that I don't need, compacted the PST they were in and ran
scanpst on that same pst. This seemed to stop the "Microsoft Office Outlook
is synchronizing folders" loop.

The messages stuck in Outbox problem seems to happen when I click the "To"
button and double click someone in the address book. If I just type the email
address in, the email will send.

I'd examine the properties of the contact, then.

1st time this happend to me, disabling Virus Scan and Firewall worked
( take your computer offline first ).

2nd time it happend, the above didn't work.
I dragged a copy of the email onto my desktop,
then I was able to delete the email which was in the Outbox.

( I am using a 1st generation MacBook Pro,
running Bootcamp beta, with Vista Ultimate,
and Office Ultimate with Outlook 2007.
I don't see Vista SP1 installed yet, but I may be mistaken )
