Hi all...
I had lots of trojans and viruses in my computer.
I removed them all but one (probably).
I still have a problem :
I have popup windows comming out of no-where.
I checked with MS Anti spyware and did not find anything.
I checked and found out that an html is set on the desktop.
When I try to remove the html file and set a picture instead - I cannot -
the list of the pictures is blocked!

Please help - how do I do that manually or with REGEDIT.

Thanks
Guy

Are you running a properly configured firewall?

Have you used the following malware cleaners? Remember to update the definitions before performing a full system scan.

Adaware SE (free)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download

Spybot - search and destroy (free)
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Trend Micro - Housecall (free)
http://housecall.trendmicro.com

Kasperky Web Scanner

I am assuming you are referring to the Background area being restricted (greyed out) in the Display Properties.

Edit the registry at the following locations.

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop]
and/or
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop]
In the right-hand pane, delete "NoChangingWallPaper" or change the value to 0.

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
and/or
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
In the right-hand pane, delete "Wallpaper" and "WallpaperStyle".
