I have a red check mark

I have a red check mark over the "folder options" icon in the controll
pannel. Does anyone know what it means? I could not access it for a long
time, but by using the Tools and folder options in a open window, I could
change the folder options. I reset the folder options back to the default and
I now have access to the folder options in the controll panel, but the red
check mark is still there.

That is the "Folder Options" icon. You will see the same one if you look
at Windows Explorer toolbar or any Directory window "Standard buttons"
toolbar.
