I have bought a new pc about 6 months ago and just started to colate my home
videos and wish to put them on a DVD to show other family members these
files play for about 15 to 20 minutes or so and one large video. total is
about 100 minutes but when i try to put it on a dvd the pc tells me that i
do not have enough room and to lose about 2.63 gig or so from the files i
want to store.

my DVD disk is a 'DVD-RW' and is 4.7gb - 120mins and 4x compatible

i have no idea what i am doing wrong, i got this pc as i was told it has a
DVD writer, (i have been told that it is also compatible with both DVD-RW
and DVD+RW disks)
my pc have on the front cover DVD+RW DVD R/RW

has anyone got an idea what i am doing wrong?

thanks

Jason

The possibilities are multiple......i.e., media, file format, burning
software, drive firmware, etc. Suggest you present detailed info to
alt.video.dvd.software newsgroup. They are some very friendly,
knowledgeable and helpful folks.....I feel sure you can resolve your issue
there. Be sure to provide specifics....you brand/model burner, burning
sofware, media type, file format, procedure used and any other pertinent
info.
Heirloom, old and bet they can help

What software are you trying to use to create the DVD? XP can not do any DVDs
without additional software.
