I have a different shutdown screen?

A friend has suddenly inherited a dif shutdown screen. It looks different &
even has a choice to "lock windows" or "lock computer"...... (not sure
which)
On bootup it also asks for a password but just hitting ENTER bypassess that.
Any suggestions before I go investigate?
 
Hi BruceM,

Sounds like your friend is using the "classic logon" instead of the Welcome
screen. Open the User Accounts applet in Control Panel, click on the "Change
the way users log on or off" link, , click in the checkbox beside "Use the
Welcome screen" to deselect (uncheck) it, then click on Apply Options
button.

You were right.
Seems like someone installed some sort of VPN or something that turned it
on.
