I have 2 locations each with same USB printer to be default for laptop

My user has 2 locations where he connects his laptop. He has the same USB printer HP 3550 at both. He does not have a parallel port on his laptop. When he connects his laptop at location 1, the printer becomes printer 1. When he moves to location 2 (200 miles away) and connect printer 2, this printer becomes printer 2 (even though it is the same make and model). My user is not very computer capable. How do I make his printers behave as one and be the automatic default for each location. If they had been parallel, it would not have been a problem

Assistance please

You cannot. In this case each of the printers has a unique ID built into
the USB port. So the PC naturally sees this ID and installs each printer as
a different unit.

The only solution would be to purchase a printer without said unique ID, but
since the manufacturer's don't release information as to which models have
or do not have this feature, it would be almost impossible.
