I got a major problem, and I don't think there's an answer, but let's ask anyways

Ok, I lost some data earlier, that's really important and I need to get
it back, I can't go and get it from my recycle bin, cause it deleted
from there for some reason. Now I thought of using system restore, but
for some reason, it was turned off? So...that doesn't leave me with
many options does it? I'm no computer wiz, and hopefully a lot of you
are, and if you are, can you give me some ideas here please

Also, I should ask this as well while i'm here. I use Firefox as a web
browser, but almost everytime I go to a site, I get a popup on Internet
explorer. So how do I get rid of these, or is there anyways to get rid
of IE permanently? (I heard you shouldn't get rid of it, but maybe I
heard wrong?)

Hi

You may be able to recover the files with an 'undelete' program, so long as
they haven't been overwritten. Try the following programs:

http://www.geocities.jp/br_kato/
http://www.execsoft.com/undelete/undelete.asp

System Restore doesn't monitor data files, so wouldn't have helped in this
case.

Is Firefox set as your default browser?

And you heard right, you should not uninstall Internet Explorer. Windows
needs its frame to function.
