I believe I inadvertantly deleted a file while using the "Add & Delete
Programs" section of Control Panel.to delete an image processing program I
was trying out. Now when I go to "My pictures", and try to bring up a
photograph to full screen, I get the following message: "Windows cannot find
Program.exe. This program is needed for opening files of type.Image file".
My OS is Windows XP Professional. I would appreciate it if someone could
advise me as to how to reinstall the required program. TIA, Scotty.

The newsgroup is for the Access Database program. For more information on
fixing this error, I suggust one of the Windows XP newsgroups.

It sounds as if you removed the program that handled this type of file. If
so, get out the install disk and reinstall the program. However, you may
have other programs that are capable of handling this type of file, but the
registry is still pointing to the program you deleted as the associated
program. It is possible to reset this, but we would need to know what the
file extension is on the file you are trying to open. The folks in the
Windows XP newsgroup will do a better job of talking you through this.
