Peter

Hello, i'm having a really strange issue in Windows xp.

Whenever i try to log in either as a local user, or a user connecting to a
domain i'm logged in as a "LOCAL SYSTEM"
I really didn't think it would be possible for this happen.

Any help resolving this issue is appreciated.

What exactly do you mean? Local System isn't an account per se - not
something you could use for an interactive login (you'd see it used for
services, though). I think you'll need to provide a lot more detail in order
for someone to help you.

I really do not know what to add, i mean what i have written - even though i
provide my user credentials, the computer logs me in as the builtin local
system account, which is supposed to be used for services but yes i do get an
interactive logon and the start bar where the username is written says
"SYSTEM".

Hmmm. I still have no idea how this could happen and you aren't providing
enough detail for anyone to be able to help. All I can suggest is that you
check your event logs for errors, back up all your data, and perhaps try a
system restore to a point before this problem began.
