I get error 0x8004010F an object could not be found in standalone

I have upgraded from office 2000 to office XP. I get the "0x8004010F the
operation failed an object could not be found" error. Outlook is configured
for imap and is not using an exchange server.
I have import the previous pst contents into a new file and have deleted the
personal address book. I have also deleted the imap settings and re-entered
the IMAP settings from fresh. The various reference to this problem mention
offline address books but I do not have one configured
