when i shutdown everything goes normal, i even hear the click wich says it
has automaticly shutdown. here i get a grey screen and the yellow light on
the computer is still on. i have to push the powerbutton for a few seconds
untill it really shuts down.

previously there was windows ME on this thing but it got really disturbed
and the master cd's worked only once after wich it was in a few weeks even
more insane. so we upgraded to xp sp2.

That is normal in WindowsXP. When shutting down, the screen
resolution will reset the color pixels to greyscale after saving your
settings and shutting down. If you need more info, you'll need
to contact Bill Gates.

that is not it.
by the way i have now solved the problem.
one of the devices (can't remember name) was turned of.
that caused the lack of powerdown. (sorry i phrased it wrong in my question)
